Third round of the season in Hamma promises excitement before the spring break
Five weeks after the last round of the Auner HardEnduroSeries Germany in Reetz, the third round of the season is set to take place this coming Saturday (May 17) in Hamma – before the series heads into its next extended spring break. Once again, nearly the entire top tier of the championship will be at the start, setting the stage for a tight battle for the day’s victory. Last year, Henry Strauss triumphed in the South Harz region after a thrilling duel with Leon Hentschel, which saw several lead changes. A strong thunderstorm at the time forced the race to be called off early.
This year, the forecast points to perfect racing conditions: sunshine and pleasant temperatures are expected. The track at the Weinberg has been extensively revised and now includes an integrated Motodrome as well as numerous climbs in the surrounding terrain, offering a lot of variety. The venue is easily accessible from the PEM Energy HESG Village.
Title Fight Heats Up – New Opportunities in the Junior Class
Milan Schmüser is aiming for his third win of the season in Hamma. However, Henry Strauss is right on his heels, trailing by just seven points – keeping the championship race wide open. Leon Hentschel and Marc Wulf follow at some distance, completing the top 4 in the overall standings alongside Schmüser and Strauss. The day’s win is expected to be contested among them.
The X-GRIP Juniors category, on the other hand, will see a shake-up: championship leader Pascal Sadecki will not compete due to a scheduling conflict with the Enduro Challenge Lichtenberg. Likewise, current runner-up Jan Valvoda is still missing from the entry list as of Monday evening. This opens up major opportunities for other riders. Felix Strauss, Emil Kessler, and Matthis Millich – currently ranked 3rd to 5th in the Junior standings – are strong contenders for the win. All three remained active during the break, some even on the international stage, such as Millich, who competed in the opening round of the Hardenduro World Championship in Great Britain.
New Momentum in the HESG-E Electric Class
There is good news from the HESG-E electric bike class: five riders have registered for the race – a new record. All eyes are on Eric Seifert, who will compete on the electric Stark Varg for the first time and aims to challenge Rico Petzold. Also returning is Meiko Keim after a long break. A former Junior class rider from the early days of the series, Keim has found new motivation with electric power and now plans to contest the remainder of the season.
Three Days of Action in Hamma
The race weekend kicks off Friday evening with a new highlight: the Parallel Endurocross as a side event – a first for the series. Saturday’s HESG Raceday will feature the usual full program from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including the Luminus HESG Kids Race.
"As in every year, MSC Hamma brings fresh ideas to the table. On Friday, both riders and fans can already look forward to the first dose of action with the Parallel Endurocross. My thanks go to the club around Jan Hoffmann for their outstanding commitment. The Motodrome, built specifically for last year’s event, has been further expanded and made even more challenging. We’re excited for a thrilling weekend and can’t wait to see who comes out on top," says Denis Günther from the series organization, promising another eventful race.
The weekend concludes on Sunday with a balance bike race for the youngest participants and a two-hour Cross Country race. On-site late registration is still possible for the Sunday races.
